Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Isn't your electric bill outrageously high??
A: No. The user controlled lights, and those left on for the cameras, are efficient - LEDs or CFLs. They use less than 50 watts total. The computers that run the site would need to be left on anyway and they only use about 150 watts total when idling.
Q: Will you sell me some Nixie tubes? Will you sell me the Nixie Shoutbox? Will you sell me some ______?
A: Sorry, but no. I have absolutely nothing for sale.
Q: If you won't sell me Nixie tubes, where can I buy some?
A: Keep an eye on eBay and eventually some will turn up. If you don't want to wait you might try www.elexs.com. Their tubes are not cheap, but based in my experience they are a good and reputable supplier with a large inventory of tubes.
Q: Where can I get software to control my Orbit, Sphere, TrackerPod, etc.?
A: I use AbelCam Pro to run this site and I like it a lot. It works with many popular Pan/Tilt webcams. You can download it at www.abelcam.com.
Q: Where can I get software to control my K8055 Card from a Web browser?
A: There doesn't seem to be any decent K8055 software availble commercially, so I wrote my own and give it away as freeware. For more information and a free download, click the K8055 & X10 Software button on the left side of the page.
Q: Will you design or build or custom program << Some Thing >> for me?
A: Probably not, but I'm not totally closed minded about this either. If you have an idea that really grabs my imagination I might be willing to help you implement it. But if you're trying to get me to do your school project for you, well, piss off!
